Scribbles from Rob Taylor

Hi, I'm Rob Taylor and I've been a member of LHG run club for just over a year now. I started running during lockdown in Cardiff, where I did my first ever 5k around Bute Park. Now I have completed my first half marathon in Bristol. All thanks to training at run club!

I had always disliked running alone in the dark winter. So when I saw an Instagram post about a run club that is based at the spectacular Left Handed Giant, I had to follow and join the fun. Run club has been like family to me and really helped me make new friends after I moved to Bristol. We even marched together at Bristol Pride and had the most fabulous time watching Carley Rae Jepsen singing on the downs.

Now I go to LHG run club every week. It gives me a chance to have a chill run, make new friends and drink a tasty pale. There's nothing else I would rather be doing on a Tuesday night. I next plan to complete another half marathon and hopefully raise more money for charity, in memory of my mother.
