A weekly run club in the heart of Bristol

Started by Jay Medway in 2019 LHG Run Club is about equality, empowerment and community. We’re a group of friends who connect over our love of getting out into nature and testing ourselves through running. We meet every week to run together then catch up with a beer.

No Egos. No show-offs. Just good vibes.

Why Join Us?

There’s no divide at LHG Run Club. Just great people, all shapes and sizes, coming together to run as one, all equal on the road or trail.

Equality

We are equal out on the streets

Empowerment

We’re a mix of every kind of runner, from first-timers to pros. All levels welcome. We support each other to reach our goals, in training and on race day.

We support each other

We meet each week to be with the right people, in the right place. Community is at the heart of everything we do. On or off the run, we support each other. No one’s left behind. Everyone’s welcome.

  • Weekly runs are Tuesday at 6pm from the LHG Brewpub and Thursday at 6pm from the Taproom. There’s usually time to drop bags and chat before heading out around 6:30.

  • You don’t need to be fast. Runs are social and relaxed, often with different pace groups or regroup points. It’s more about the community than smashing splits. No one gets left behind.

  • You can just turn up and run. Membership is optional but gives you perks like discounts, club gear and updates on special events. Plus it’s free.

  • Nothing fancy. Just comfortable running shoes and clothes you’re happy to sweat in. In winter, lights or reflective gear are a good idea as it can be dark. A waterproof layer helps on wet Bristol evenings. There’s usually a bag drop, so you can bring a warm layer for after.

  • Yes, there’s typically a bag drop at the venue before the run so you don’t have to carry anything.

  • Very social. Lots of people stay for a drink or food after. It’s as much about hanging out and meeting good people as it is about the miles.

  • Not at all. Loads of people come solo. The vibe is friendly and relaxed and it’s easy to fall into a chat within minutes.
