RUN TO THE LIGHTS: OUR NIGHT AT THE BRISTOL LIGHT FESTIVAL 2026

Run To The Lights: Our Night at the Bristol Light Festival

There’s something special about running through a city at night and this week, we took it to another level.

We beat the rain, laced up, and headed out into a glowing Bristol for a Run Club session with a difference: chasing the installations of the Bristol Light Festival.

The City, Switched On

Since launching in 2020, the Bristol Light Festival has become a firm fixture in the city’s cultural calendar — a free, city-wide celebration of colour, creativity and playful installations that transform the centre into an open-air gallery.

It’s what Bristol does best and it shows Bristol at its best, even during the cold, wet February days.

Beautiful, eye-catching artworks sit alongside standout local, national, and international talent around some of Bristol’s iconic landmarks and lesser-known streets. Spaces are brought to life in light, inviting you to see the city differently, making you look closer and stay out longer.

In 2025, over 200,000 visitors showed up across 10 luminous nights. Not bad for February in Bristol — and honestly, it definitely helped us get out the door too.

The festival returns for its sixth edition from 19–28 February 2026 so make sure you go check it out.

Run to the lights a yearly run we host for Bristol BID and the Bristol Light Festival.

On The Run

We rolled out just after the downpour. Pavements were still slippy, but it didn’t take away from the experience of seeing Bristol at night — alive in light.

Suddenly, familiar routes didn’t feel familiar at all. Colour spilled across buildings. Landmarks we pass every week felt cinematic — especially through the university gardens.

We slowed down to take it in. Stopped for photos. Laughed a lot. Then picked it back up again.

Zero drop. Party pace.

A running art tour, but with a Bristol twist to it.

Why We Run

Nights like this are what Run Club is about: good miles with great people, exploring the place we call home.

Huge thanks to Bristol BID for making it happen and to the Bristol Light Festival team for delivering another standout year.

This is what Bristol does best.

Bristol showed off.

And we showed up.

We’ll definitely be running to the lights again, see you in 2027 💫
